Remembrance Sunday is 8 November. Hemel gathers at Boxmoor War Memorial at 10.40am with roads shut from 10am; Berkhamsted parades at 2.30pm. Every time.

Remembrance Sunday is 8 November 2026. In Hemel Hempstead, Dacorum Borough Council and the Royal British Legion ask people to gather at the Boxmoor War Memorial on St John’s Road by 10.40am so the service can start on time, and roads will close from 10am (Dacorum Borough Council). Berkhamsted keeps its parade to the afternoon.

Roads close From 10am
Gather 10.40am, Boxmoor War Memorial, St John’s Road
Listed time 10.30am to 11.30am
Organisers Dacorum Borough Council and the Royal British Legion

The council’s 2026 listing invites residents and visitors to gather at 10.40am “allowing the service to begin promptly”, and warns that closures start at 10am, so allow extra time to get there (Dacorum Borough Council).

The council has not yet listed which roads close this year. In 2024 the parade marched from the town centre at about 10.30am to the memorial at St John’s Church, Boxmoor, for an outdoor service, and these roads were closed from 10am to midday: Plough Roundabout, Leighton Buzzard Road, Moor End Road, Waterhouse Street, Station Road, St John’s Road, Park Road, Heath Lane, Cotterells and Vicarage Close (Dacorum Borough Council, 2024 listing). The 2022 listing named the same ten roads (Dacorum Borough Council, 2022 listing). If you need to cross the town between Boxmoor and the Plough on Sunday morning, plan round that block. Our roadworks and travel page will carry the 2026 closure order when it is published.

Berkhamsted

St Peter’s Church has published the whole day (St Peter’s Great Berkhamsted):

10.45am A short Act of Remembrance, before the 11am silence Garden of Remembrance War Memorial, Rectory Lane Cemetery

The parade runs down the High Street, so expect a closure there in the afternoon. No traffic order has been published yet.

Tring

Tring’s war memorial stands on Church Square in front of St Peter and St Paul’s Church. The parish says it is thought to be the first in the country raised to those who died in the First World War, funded by public subscription and dedicated in November 1918 (Tring Team Parish). Neither the parish nor Tring Town Council had published 2026 Remembrance times when we checked on 25 September. This page will add them when they do.

Still to be confirmed

  • The roads closed in Hemel Hempstead on 8 November 2026 and for how long.
  • Tring’s Remembrance Sunday times.
  • Any High Street closure in Berkhamsted for the 2.30pm parade.
